God Bless Harper

Lord of Life gained a new member of their congregation today, Harper Josephine! Our friends and family gathered for the 11am service, with Harper's baptism immediately following. We got her dressed in her pretty white dress, and accessorized with the new bracelets from Grandma Trish & PaPa Jim, and Granny Deb and Grandpops Bob.

We made it through part of ceremony, but we had a very sleepy girl on our hands. Church service happened to fall right around Harper's morning nap time. Instead of giving in to her heavy eyelids, she continued to fight the urge to sleep. After the service, Harper and 4 other children lined the alter in their white waiting for the water to trickle their heads. Harper was the only child who felt like screaming the entire time seemed like good idea. Skipping her morning nap was getting the best of her, and she was overly tired which equals one fussy girl. We spent most of our time trying to calm her down with bouncing and bottles, without much success. Pastor Peter baptized her without too much fuss. Afterwards, she did cooperate for a some photos and we even got a few smiles out of her (thanks to her Godmother, Amanda!).

I feel like this photo sums up the ceremony - sleepy baby,
Mitch and I wishing she would just take a nap! :)

Being a trooper and smiling for photos.

Thanks Jenna & Noel for being part of Harper's special day!

Our friends and family continued the celebration over at our house for lunch, drinks, cake and mingling. We shared some great laughs, and Harper received some very thoughtful gifts. You could feel the love that surrounds our sweet little girl - and are so thankful for the wonderful family and friends that are a part of her life. She is a lucky girl to have such a lovely group of people to share their love, faith and wishes with her. We feel blessed everyday that God gave us such a precious gift. Oh, what a wonderful God we have!
