Drooly McDroolstein

I think we're entering "teething zone" with Harper. She hasn't been too fussy, but the amount of drool she is producing is actually impressive. Mitch and I are always amazed how it literally pours out of her mouth, she's so talented. Let's just say, if she was a contestant on Toddlers and Tiara's her talent would be filling up a cup with drool in record time... and the winner is Harper Helleen!

With excessive drooling comes damp clothes. This is true for both Harper and us. It's not uncommon for us to have a giant wet mark on our shoulders after carrying her around. Even last week at the motorcycle show, by the time we were wrapping up at the River Centre the front of her carrier was soaked. After doing some research it seems lil' teefies could show up anytime, it obviously varies per baby. We'll keep the drool rags handy until we see signs of her pearly whites. In the meantime, I'm sure everything she can get her little chubby fingers on will go directly into her mouth.

After last weekend's whirlwind, it was nice to have a pretty relaxed week. We had zero plans which was music to all of our ears. Our evenings consisted of sitting around in sweatpants and jammies watching Family Feud and Bravo, perfect night huh? Thursday we actually ventured out after work. I picked Harper up from my parents and we met Mitch and a few of his co-worker's at 3 Squares for Happy Hour. Happy Hour turned into dinner - and I must say, 3 Squares has killer cornbread. I really recommend it.

After dinner I was on a mission to find Harper some white shoes for her Easter dress. Target had been a major fail, and I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a pair of shoes she might wear a handful of times. I am a sucker for baby shoes though, they are so small and just too cute. Mitch often has to reel me back in to reality that we can't spend $60+ on a pair of shoes for our 3 1/2 month old. Darn it. We did end up finding an affordable pair of cute white sandals at Babies R Us, they will be perfect and they were only $12.99. As always, we had to do a quick scan of the toy section. After walking down the Sesame Street aisle, we headed to the cashier with our cute white sandals and talking Elmo. Hopefully every drip to Toys R Us/Babies R Us doesn't lead to us leaving with a new toy.

New Elmo!

Our Friday night was a wild one... or wait. We sat at home playing under the gym, checking out the jumper, and once Harper went to bed I finished my latest read... Bossypants by Tina Fey. If you're looking for a quick read and find her humorous - I'd totally fork over the $12 and read it. It's hilarious. Her writing style is exactly how her character Liz Lemon talks on 30 Rock. She has some very interesting and funny stories she shares. Plus there are pictures, who doesn't love a good picture book? Below are a few pictures from this week, see if you can find the common theme.

This is her "crazy" look.

If you answered "she always has something in her mouth" you are correct. It's been hard lately to get a photo without her entire hand shoved in her mouth. I still think she's pretty cute, hand and all. Call me bias.

Tonight we're heading to dinner with Paul & Kody. It's been awhile since we've seen them, so we're looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Until next time...
The Helleen's
