Lil' Swimmer

So, it's been confirmed. Harper loves the pool. Mitch and I have been kicking around the idea of swim lessons for the last 6+ months but the timing never really worked out with our schedules. Since summer is right around the corner, we felt like it's now or never to get her started in the water! We had our first class of Baby Backfloat 1 at Foss Swim School last Wednesday, and it was amazing.

Harper and I were the "newbies" in the pool since this was technically the 3rd week of the Spring session. We met her instructor Mandy and the other kiddos in the class and got the run down of the agenda. Every activity we did involved a song, which was kind of fun. We sang along in our circle while Harper floated on her back, splashed and even dunked her entire face. Throughout the entire 30 minutes she was nothing but smiles, no tears - even when I had to push her face under the water. After just one session I'm already declaring this a success. We'll continue with the classes every Wednesday until early June, and I know we're all looking forward to next week!

Last weekend we had our very first Easter egg hunt. Unfortunately it had to be inside since our Minnesota winter has been extended into April. Honestly Minnesota, it's April and we're still seeing snow. Haven't we had enough? Where the heck is Spring? Okay, sorry for my weather rant... but I felt it was necessary. Back to Easter... Mitch and I hid the eggs the night before (I use the term "hiding" loosely) and as soon as Harper woke up Sunday morning the search was on! Once she figured out there were treats inside and that she had more to find, it became her new favorite game. We got ready in our Sunday best, and headed to church. I love seeing all the kids dressed in their puffy Easter dresses and little suits, it's got to be one of the cutest things ever.

Harper received a lot of goodies in her Easter baskets, and a lot of us had similar ideas. We now have 3 bottles of bubbles but I know they'll get used. She was so entertained by Mitch blowing bubbles, and even figure out how to do it herself. It's become a daily thing, and once it gets a little warmer out our bubble blowing sessions will get a little longer!

One day this week it was nice enough to go for a little walk. Harper's been loving her bike and helmet :) so every chance we get, around the block we go. I shot a little video this week of our little biker babe.

We're looking forward to warmer weather, and hopefully soon. We're ready for bike rides, grilling, and playing on the swing set! We've been cooped up for too long!

Until next time...
The Helleen's
