Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy

Harper has always enjoyed checking out the fish tank during our doctor visits, but tonight we took it to a whole new level. It has been months since we've seen the Husfeldt's so we decided to plan a family fun night at Mall of America. Mitch, Harper and I headed down to Bloomington a little early to sneak in some shopping. After a little retail therapy - we met Ryan, Amanda, Ari and baby Brekken at Sea Life to begin our night of fun!

First up, the sting rays. Harper was mesmerized by the giant rays. Every time something swam across the glass, Harper's smile got a little bigger. We checked out the rays, starfish, seahorses and jellyfish before we entered the big aquarium. As walked through the glass tunnel Harper's grunts and pointing began. Harper loved the giant sea turtles, the cute yellow fishy's and even the toothy sharks. Ari and Harper saw all kinds of fish and had a blast at Sea Life.

After our deep sea adventure, we headed to Kokomo's Island Cafe for dinner. This island themed restaurant is adorable with tiki men and lawn chairs all around. It made me wish it wasn't 0° outside, umm summer - where are you? It got a little late for the kiddo's, but Harper and Ari still showed us their "cheese face" for a photo. We had such a fun night out with the Husfeldt's. I definitely see playdates with Ari and Brekken in our future!

This past week I had a little "girl's night out" with my co-worker Katie. We both listen to MyTalk (a talk radio station discussing the latest in pop culture and celebrity gossip) and Katie won tickets to their special happy hour. She said since I introduced her to the station, I should join her at The Lowry in Uptown for the event. There was no way I was going to pass up this opportunity. We spent the evening chatting with all the hosts, and even snuck a quick picture with Desperate Housewives very own James Denton. It was an awesome night out, thanks again Katie for inviting me to tag along!

The rest of the weekend is pretty open. I'm assuming tomorrow will be our usual lazy Sunday, which I have no complaints about. We're looking forward to hosting Mike & Jennie's engagement party next Saturday, and have some planning to do this week. I'm sure the week will cruise on by, and we'll be celebrating before we know it!

Until next time...
The Helleen's
