Lazy Ladies

Winter has finally arrived here in Minnesota. That being said, Harper and I have been lazy gals hanging out at home. Seeing the subzero temperatures in the forecast makes our decision very easy. Stay in our jammies in the warm cozy house!

This past weekend we actually were out and about quite a bit. Friday night, we brought Harper to her first sporting event. We headed back to our old stomping grounds at Osseo Senior High to watch the boys basketball team take on Maple Grove. It was fun to see past teachers, faculty and family friends. Harper met a lot of new people that night! She did wonderful at the game. It's amazing how a baby can sleep through high school students screaming, Pep Band blaring, cheerleaders chanting and fans cheering. She barely moved, it was pretty impressive. Osseo won by a pretty large margin, and it made us realize how old we are seeing all those high schoolers.

Sunday, Paul and Kody came over to hang out. They visited us in the hospital, but haven't seen Harper since. As I mention in this blog every week... she has changed so much since then. We watched the Green Bay Packers get beat by the Giants, then headed to Broadway Pizza for dinner. We always have such a great time with those two!

It was a long weekend home for Mitch with MLK day being Monday. We actually had our second date since Harper's birth. We had free movie tickets that needed to be used by the end of the month, so we let Grandma Trish and Austin babysit for a few hours while we headed to AMC. We dropped Harper off at my parents, and immediately Gracie (my parent's dog) was intrigued by the baby. She was right behind my every step, waiting to see what was making that noise. She isn't used to sharing the attention with someone else. Mitch and I decided to go see "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." I always say I'm going to read the book before seeing the movie, but as usual... I took the easy route and just saw the movie. Critics were giving terrific reviews, and I completely agree. I do think reading the book will still be beneficial and bring the movie together even more with additional details. From what I've heard, the entire series is great! We came home and spent the rest of evening laying around as a family. Overall, we had a wonderful long weekend!

We finally received the proofs from her newborn photo session. Even though it didn't go as planned with her being awake most of the session, we were still able to find several pictures we loved. Below are a few of our favorites!

This past week, we also had a few visitors. Melissa, Madison, Julianne and Tammy all came down from Saint Cloud to visit us. It's always so fun to see the Medford clan. We're excited to meet the newest Medford member in July! Madison gave Tammy a tour of our house, and showed her "Madison's room." She even talked Mitch into making popcorn in the popcorn maker! Madison was full of questions regarding Harper, it was adorable. She also got to hold her, and I snapped this precious photo.

Tomorrow I'm heading down to REACH to visit. I feel completely out of loop being away from work for so long, it's weird. It will be fun to see everyone, and catch up. We have another pretty low key weekend planned, which is fine by me considering the weather. I know it's only January, but I'm ready for some warm weather. Time is going so fast, Spring will be here before you know it!

Until next time...
The Helleen's
