#wine4mrsmoren

Well, this post might be a week late but I'm still laughing at the events from last weekend. The weekend was dedicated to celebrating the soon-to-be Moren's, so that's exactly what we did.

Friday evening, Jennie's friend Stacie threw an amazing couples shower. Unfortunately we had a slight snafu at home just an hour before the party started. I was giving Harper a quick bath, and Mitch came in and said, "we have water in our basement." Those are never good words to hear. Mitch immediately started cleaning up while I called the plumber to see if there was anything we could do to stop the pin sized hole in the water pipe. After finding out a quick fix for our leaking pipe, Mitch hopped in the car to buy the necessary supplies and a new dehumidifier. Keep in mind, this is all happening 30 minutes before the shower. Harper and I ended up leaving to arrive on time and Mitch met us a little later once everything was under control. Oh the joys of being a homeowner.

The shower was spectacular. Stacie is certainly the hostess with the mostess. The decorations were perfect, down to the name tags for every home-made dish. Jennie and Mike even let Harper help them open gifts, so she was in present heaven. There were a couple things that made the whole house erupt with laughter. It all started when Jennie was opening the gift from her Aunt Kathi and cousin Michelle. As she was reading the card - said looked up and said, "this card says Mr. & Mr." We couldn't stop laughing since they told us 3 of them read the card at the store and no one caught it. Another guest brought the wrong personalized beverage tub, so for the evening Mike & Jennie were also referred to as The Moore's. It was a great kickoff to a wonderful celebratory weekend.

Saturday morning the #wine4mrsmoren extravaganza began. After a champagne toast, we hopped on the giant bus ready for our wine tour around the city. We had three stops on the itinerary - Beaujos Wine Bar & Bistro in Edina, Lucia's in Minneapolis and The Sample Room in Northeast Minneapolis. Throughout the day, we played a modern version of a good fashioned scavenger hunt. We broke out into three teams, and documented each finding with a posted Instagram photo hashtagging "wine4mrsmoren." The scavenger hunt lasted the entire day, but Team 1 pulled out the win at our last stop. It was such a fun way to document the day, and see everyone's photos.

After our daytime wine bar tour, we headed back to Stacie's for dinner, gifts and girl time. Yet again, the food was delicious and the drinks continued. We changed into our jammies, and declared it game time. We gathered around the table to play Cards Against Humanity. It's comparable to Apples to Apples, however highly inappropriate and sometimes offensive. So, it was perfect for a bachelorette party. We were laughing so hard, there were times I had tears rolling down my face. The conversations we had at that table, I will never forget. Never.

Around 11pm the crowd got a little smaller, and the dance party began. Let's just say we may or may not have made up a dance to Backstreet Boys. Oh, and yes we're in our late 20's. We also decided a late night bar visit in our jammies was in order - so that's exactly what happened. Deb was nice enough to pick us up and bring us to The Lookout to end our night "mom dancing." It was awesome. We were the youngest people there - and we immediately hit up the dance floor in our sweats. It was the perfect end to one heck of a bachelorette party!

Have a good weekend everyone!

Until next time,
The Helleen's
