One Month To Go

Excuse me, could someone tell me where 2012 has gone? Harper is 11 months old today, I can hardly believe it! One month from today our friends and family will be joining us for a Sesame Street extravaganza to celebrate her 1st birthday. It's funny to think last year at this time we were counting down the days to my due date, and putting the finishing touches on the nursery. One year later, we have an amazing lil' girlie that makes us laugh everyday. I feel like one lucky Momma.

After last week, I think Harper has finally gotten over her first cold. No more boogies or fever, and I'm so thankful for that. I was glad she was healthy enough to visit with everyone Saturday at the Thirty One Gifts party. It was so much fun to have all the girls over for appetizers and drinks, plus a little shopping. It had been months seen I've seen Melissa and sweet baby Clay. He is getting so big, and is just about the cutest thing I think I've seen. We've already decided he and Harper are going to make one stunning couple! Surprisingly enough, Melissa was able to capture a picture of both of them looking at the camera. We'll save it for the wedding slideshow, ha!

Sunday we lounged around the house like usual, cheering on the good ol' Vikings. It's become a Sunday tradition to sit around in our jammies most of the day watching trashy TV or football. Thank goodness for weekend marathons of reality shows - it gives me a chance to catch up on my list of shows. My latest obsession, Duck Dynasty on A&E. I'm completely in love with the quirky Robertson family, and their Duck Commander business. Uncle Si is probably my favorite, and his crazy quotes bring me to tears from laughing so hard. If you've never watched an episode, give it a chance!

This week, Mitch's Granny turned 90! We were sad we couldn't be in Arizona to celebrate with her, but sent our love via email. Deb was celebrating with Granny down in Arizona and even sent us a picture of her winning big at the casino! I also have to give a birthday shout out to Mitch's brother Matt who turned 27 yesterday, and my cousin Betty who turned 16! It's been a busy week of birthday celebrations for the Helleen family!

Since Thanksgiving in a mere week away, we're starting to plot our Black Friday shopping plans. Unfortunately, Walmart and Target are breaking all the rules and opening their doors Thanksgiving night. WHAT THE HECK! It's called Black Friday for a reason, because the stores open on FRIDAY. Not Thursday. Not only does it interfere with quality family time, but those poor employees who have to report to work on a holiday. Hopefully there will be enough push back and store will return to the good ol' days and open at 4am. As upset as I am about their new policy, we will still be partaking in the madness that is Black Friday. It might be one of my favorite days of the year, and yes - I know that's sad. It's an old family tradition of mine, and Mitch and I have spiced it up with Black Friday bingo cards. We have quite a crew going this year, so that adds to fun and craziness. We end the morning with breakfast and amazing doorbusters! Bring on the deals!

BLACK FRIDAY BINGO

This weekend, I'm heading to Mall of America and Ikea with my Mom to shop for some outfit ideas for Harper's 1 year photos. We'll also make a quick pit stop of Ikea to pick up a few things for the play room. We have it cleared out and ready to paint! I'm hoping we can get most of that knocked out this weekend, so we can start putting things together. One month until our deadline!

Until next time,
The Helleen's
